We are a multi generational women’s writers group that meets in Brentwood, California and Great Barrington, Ma.
Each class is a thematically linked combination of quick writing exercises, longer prompt writing and work that has been generated both in and out of class.
NOTE: LA classes are being held on an abbreviated schedule, as I am renovating a farm house in western Mass this year to be used as an artist and writers retreat! I am holding a Skype class (zoom.com) with the same schedule. Send me a note if you'd like to join! Classes in Great Barrington, Mass starting soon!

The Long Table
Women's Writers Group:
Sisterhood, laughter, emotion, technique, inspiration and above all,
In class prompt writing generates new work each week. Prompts may be used for personal stories, fiction or character development.
Screenwriters bring in scenes that can be cast from the class to hear read.
Novelists, essayists and memoirists bring new pages.
Songs, poems, blogs, short stories, one woman shows, musings and rants-- anything goes.
If you are not currently working on material outside of class, assignments will be offered.
Although it is encouraged, you are not required to bring work in every week.
Rewriting is a part of the process.
There will be a class story salon quarterly for those who are interested. This will be a public performance.
The most important thing is that
THE LONG TABLE inspires you to write!
